The writings of most religions have a contemplative character. They deal with questions about good and evil in a way that has no relationship with time.
The Bible is completely different from the writings of other religions in the sense that it is not contemplative but only deals with concrete facts and developments.. First of all, the Bible is a history book that tells us how God dealt with people in the past and what He intends to do with mankind in the future. In as far as it is possible to derive religious teachings from the stories told, these teachings are always the product of events and developments which actually took place in the course of human history or will happen in the future.
What the Bible has to say in the field of good and bad and religious teachings is of no value at all if the Biblical history is inaccurate. But this is not the case. The Bible gives us trustworthy and factual information about the history of mankind. This guarantees us that the lessons about good and evil that we can learn from this history are absolutely correct.
